ABSTRACT

This research compares two models in information privacy domain. The research intends to find a refined model for databases management systems in Indonesia. The first model is Concern for Information Privacy (CFIP) and the second model is the Internet Users Information Privacy Concern (IUIPC). The reseach find That both modelsare not fit for Indonesian users. This study CFIP Finds That empirical evidence has medium-level fit and IUIPC has lower-level fit. Therefore, this study concludes That Should IT managers concern to all of the relevant dimensons.

Consequently, this research provides a new model of That Is the most suitable for Indonesian users. The new model is Called as IndIPC Which combines the two models and eliminated the irrelevant dimensions. That suggests the new model of two out of five dimensions Affects behavioral intention. That Indonesian it means users prefer to present on their personal information without considering privacy control and anxiety. In Addition, the study does not find That trusting belief internenes normal mediates the direct relationship Between personal information privacy and the behavioral intentions. Finally, this research infers That contingent situations of Indonesian users have Consequences on the adjustment process of database management in the Indonesian firms.

1. Preliminary

Development of a database management system causes more easily collecting data outside parties associated with the company's business. Behind this simplicity, the threat to privacy actually created serious enough for enterprise customers, because the company has membasiskan into the database. Personal information in the database to be easily duplicated, transmitted and integrated (Malhotra, Kim & Agarwal, 2004). The threat emerged as a result of management and ownership of a customer database that are intended as an improper use (ab-use). In an another pembahasaan, Laufer & Wolfe (1977) states that these kesalahpenggunaan invade the personal privacy implications.

During the last two decades, internet users feel a deep anxiety and distress. An internet users instantly get offers a wide range of goods from certain sites. Similarly, certain to get an email or open a connection on a particular site. In fact, it had never been informed of a personal identity to a company selling goods in the internet system. It was undeniable that the Internet system in the form of playing a unique threat to the privacy of information (Smith et al., 1996). Thus, the problem of information privacy has been a concern for the legal, organizational behavior, public policy, and information systems.
